Additional Learning Support Manager
Working 36 hours per week
Salary: 30,831 - 34,680 per annum

Northern College has been graded outstanding in all areas by Ofsted and we are looking for someone to join the College who can contribute to our continued success. Northern College offers a wide range of adult learning provision including; literacy, numeracy and return to study courses, enrichment activities, an Access to Higher Education Diploma, Higher Education courses and a varied programme of Trade Union Studies. Set in beautiful parklands and with excellent facilities, Northern College for Residential Adult Education has a powerful reputation for the quality of its services.

Within this role you will be responsible for managing the Additional Learning Support (ALS) provision across the college and ensuring the successful completion of initial assessments of ALS needs through recruitment, admissions and induction. You will manage a team of staff to deliver a high quality and responsive service that is centred on meeting the needs of learners. With proven experience of assessing learners with specific learning difficulties and/or disabilities, you will ensure appropriate support is in place to maximise the outcomes for learners. This will involve close liaison with academic staff teams and support services to ensure a positive experience for all learners who attend the college. You will be expected to act on your own initiative and make sound judgements particularly when responding to emergency situations. Educated to degree level, you will also possess a minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths or equivalent and possess (or be willing to achieve) a Counselling qualification.
